My top 6 Tableau CRM Features

Every person I work with that uses any Salesforce product has their top features; well here are mine for Tableau CRM:

  1. Dashboard Templates

Tableau CRM has pre-built templates that will enable your Salesforce Admin to get it up and running in no time. Additionally, they are customized per industry, so if you’re in the Consumer Banking, Financial Services, Ecommerce, Healthcare space, etc.. you’ll find the perfect match for you. Some of my favorite below:

    • Change Analytics Template: visualize field history data in any Salesforce object. E.g. this can show you how a member from your team is changing data.

    • Adoption Analytics Template: this template tells you how your teams are using the Dashboards in Tableau CRM and which are the most commonly used assets

    • Design Style Guide Template: creates an app with ready to use dashboards, charts and widget templates

  2. The ability to combine data from multiple sources

This is probably the biggest win for more companies for the following reasons:

    1. Tableau CRM allows you to create use-case customized datasets- meaning, if you need to create a very specific dataset that combines data from multiple objects, let’s say, Accounts, Opportunities, Tasks and Events, Products, Contacts and cases, to get an overview of your top accounts and how you’re servicing them, you can do this with a custom dataset!

    2. Additionally, we can also input data from CSVs, Salesfore Objects and third party systems

    3. We can create a dataset with data that’s RELEVANT and USEFUL for your users

  3. Ability to create new fields or calculations

Something extremely cool about Tableau CRM is the ability to create new fields or recalculate values based on existing fields, without the need of creating these in Salesforce. Tableau CRM has multiple options to create new calculations. My top 2:

    1. Compute Expression: allows you to create new fields or recalculate values based on fields on the same “row”

    2. Compute Relative: allows you to compare or summarize a row with previous ones

  4. Actionable Insights

Something incredibly cool about Tableau CRM is it allows you to perform actions on a Salesforce record directly from Analytics!

  5. Einstein Discovery

I’ve said this in another post but Einstein Discovery is amazing!

Descriptive Analytics - this will tell you what happened in your data!

Predictive Analytics - this will reveal why it happened, and what should happen. Predicted outcomes based on

    statistical probabilities

Prespcriptive Analytics - that suggests ways in which to improve your predicted outcomes

  6. Ability to embed Tableau CRM Dashboards into your records in Salesforce

Finally! The ability to embed a Dashboard in a record. This is probably my favorite feature of Tableau CRM! Why? Sales teams do NOT have time to scroll through an account and 1,000 fields to understand what’s happening with their accounts… BUT what if you can create a Tableau CRM dashboard with an Accounts top deals by amount, their most significant activities and key contacts, all at a glance in a dashboard embedded at the top of an account?
